Hatters Host Kennesaw State on Thursday

Stetson men's basketball opens its final home weekend of the regular season, 7 p.m., Thursday when the Hatters welcome Kennesaw State to the Edmunds Center.
 
The Hatters (10-16 overall, 2-7 ASUN) will be looking to avenge an earlier loss to Kennesaw State (11-14, 5-4). The Haters dropped an 84-65 decision to the Owls last month.
 
Derick Newton continues to lead the Hatters in both scoring (18.2) and rebounding (6.0). He recorded a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds last Saturday at North Florida.
 
Kennesaw State enters Thursday game having won four of its last five games. The Owls lead the ASUN and rank fifth nationally in three-point field goal percentage (.423), and are led by Kendrick Ray's 21.7 points per game.

News & Notes
•Derick Newton established a new career high last Saturday with 13 rebounds against North Florida. The sophomore also added 23 points, his 4th double-double of the season and 11th of his career.
•Stetson made just three 3-pointers against the Ospreys, with sophomore Leo Goodman making all of them. The swingman scored 15 points, his second straight game in double digits and his seventh such effort in the last 11 games.
•Angel Rivera (133) and Divine Myles (103) have reached the 100-assist mark for the third consecutive season. Prior to their arrival, no teammates had ever reached 100 in the same season.
•Senior forward Brian Pegg and team manager Marshall Buschbaum will be honored in pregame ceremonies on Saturday as part of the annual Senior Day festivities.
