Hatters Conclude Season in ASUN Semis

FORT MYERS--Stetson women's tennis saw its season come to end on Saturday as the Hatters suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of FGCU in the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.

The fourth seeded Hatters end the season with a 7-14 overall record. Regular season champion and No. 1 seed FGCU advances to Sunday's championship match.

"I'm very proud of how we finished the season off and played in this tournament," Stetson head coach Travis Sandlant said. "We gave ourselves a real shot today. The future of this program looks bright."

Freshman Sofia Ferding as the only Hatter to post a victory on Saturday, winning her singles match at No. 4 by a score of 6-2, 6-2. Fellow freshman Lucie Renault was leading her match at No. 3 when the Eagles clinched the match.
