Hatters Open ASUN Conference Play Saturday at FGCU

Stetson men's basketball opens ASUN Conference play Saturday at defending conference champion Florida Gulf Coast. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Fort Myers. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.
 
The Hatters (8-8) snapped a three-game losing streak on Monday with a 94-88 win over visiting Florida National. Six players scored in double figures, led by B.J. Glasford's 16 points.
 
FGCU (9-8) has followed a four-game losing streak with back-to-back wins, including a 62-54 win over Florida Tech last Sunday.
 
Saturday's game will be a battle between two of the ASUN's top scorers. FGCU's Brandon Goodwin, the preseason player of the year in the conference, is second in the league in scoring at 17.5 points per game while Stetson's Divine Myles checks in third at 17.1 ppg.
 
News & Notes
•The Hatters begin their 32nd season of play in the ASUN Conference on Saturday. Stetson has been a member of the ASUN since the 1986-87 season and the Hatters are currently the longest tenured league member.
•The Hatters are 241-291 (.453) all-time in ASUN regular season games
•Saturday's game is the 25th meeting all-time between Stetson and FGCU, with the Eagles owning a 17-7 advantage. Stetson has lost three straight to FGCU, including an 87-57 defeat in last season's ASUN Tournament quarterfinals
•The two teams are meeting for the third straight time in Fort Myers. Last year's regular-season finale and ASUN Tournament meetings were also at FGCU's Alico Arena.
•Stetson placed six players in double figures for the first time this season in Monday's win over Florida National. B.J. Glasford (16), Divine Myles (15), Angel Rivera (15), Luke Doyle (14), Abayomi Iyiola (12), and Christiaan Jones (10) all reached double digits.
•The Hatters' bench tallied 34 points against FNU, as Iyiola and Jones combined for 22 of those points. Stetson's reserves have scored 20 or more points in seven straight games.
•Divine Myles tied former Hatter Garfield Blair (2005-09) at No. 4 on the career scoring list. Both players now have 1,582 career points.
