Hatters to Face UNF in ASUN Tournament Quarterfinals

Stetson men's soccer opens postseason play on Friday when the sixth-seeded Hatters face No. 3 seed North Florida at the ASUN Tournament in Fort Myers, Fla. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
 
The winner of Friday's match will face No. 2 seed FGCU, 1 p.m. Sunday. The other half of the ASUN Tournament bracket is playing this weekend at No. 1 seed Lipscomb. The ASUN championship game is set for Saturday, Nov. 10 at the home site of the highest remaining seed.
 
Stetson (6-9-1) is making its 23rd appearance in the ASUN Tournament. The Hatters are 10-17-1 overall in ASUN Tournament play, winning championships in 2005 and 2009.
 
Last season the Hatters entered the ASUN Tournament at the No. 1 seed but lost in the semifinals to Jacksonville.
 
The Hatters defeated the Ospreys (4-10) in the teams' only meeting earlier this year, winning 2-0 on Oct. 20 in DeLand. Erwan Colas and Daniel O'Brien each scored goals for Stetson.
 
UNF is 3-3 in its last six games, including a 4-1 defeat of NJIT in the regular-season finale.
 
News & Notes: Stetson hasn't won a game in the ASUN Tournament since 2010 … Stetson and UNF will be meeting for the first time in the ASUN Tournament … Stetson's 10 ASUN Tournament victories lead all current league members … Stetson has reached the ASUN final five times, the last time coming in 2010.
