Hatters Visit Navy, George Washington

Stetson women's soccer looks to continue its hot start to the new season this weekend when the Hatters visit Navy on Friday, and George Washington on Sunday.
 
The Hatters (2-0) are off to their best start in 13 years following season-opening wins over FIU (2-0) and Towson (2-1). Stetson showed great offensive balance last weekend as four different players scored the Hatters' four goals. Junior Emily Plotz was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week after recording her 12th career shutout and making 10 total saves.
 
Navy (1-0) opened its season with a 1-0 win last weekend over Pacific. Navy is 2-0 all-time against the Hatters, including a 3-1 win in DeLand in 2014.
 
George Washington (2-0) defeated Pacific (1-0) and Liberty (2-1) last weekend. The Colonials host Delaware on Thursday.
 
News & Notes: At 2-0, this is Stetson's best start since the 2005 team opened the season with three straight wins on its way to a 9-win season … Stetson's best start to a season came in 1996 when the Hatters opened with six consecutive victories on the way to a program-record 12 wins … Stetson and George Washington will be meeting for the first time on Sunday.
 
Up Next: The Hatters visit Georgia Southern, 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31, before hosting Detroit Mercy on Sunday, Sept. 2.
