Women's Soccer Athletic Communications

Hatters Visit LSU on Thursday

Stetson women's soccer takes a big step forward in competition this week, beginning when the Hatters visit LSU, 8 p.m., Thursday in Baton Rouge, La. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
 
Stetson also faces Miami and UCF in the next 10 days.
 
The Hatters (3-2-1) enter Thursday's game following last Sunday's scoreless draw with Detroit Mercy. It was another strong defensive effort for the Hatters, who also defeated Georgia Southern 1-0 in overtime on Friday. In all, the Hatters haven't allowed a goal in the last 220:37 of play.
 
Junior goalkeeper Emily Plotz registered the 13th and 14th shutouts of her career last weekend and she enters play at LSU ranked third in the ASUN Conference with a 0.81 goals-against average.
 
The Tigers (4-1-0) last defeated Lamar, 3-0, on Monday. LSU has additional victories over Liberty, Texas State and South Alabama. Adrienne Richardson leads the Tigers with four goals and nine points. Goalkeeper Caroline Brockmeier has four shutouts in five starts.
 
News & Notes: Stetson will be looking for its third straight shutout on Thursday, something the Hatters haven't done since 2016 (vs. USC Upstate, Lipscomb & Kennesaw State) … this is the second meeting all-time between Stetson and LSU … the Tigers defeated Stetson, 2-0, on Sept. 7, 2000 in DeLand … Stetson is 0-5 all-time against the SEC (Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU).
 
Up Next: The Hatters return home to host Miami, 1 p.m., Sunday at the Athletic Training Center.
