Hatters Visit Bucknell Sunday

Stetson men's soccer continues its season-opening road swing when the Hatters visit Bucknell, Noon, Sunday.
 
The Hatters (1-2-0) haven't played since last Friday's 3-2 win at FIU. Sophomore Elvis Menayese scored a pair of goals for Stetson and earned ASUN Conference player of the week honors as a result. Senior Daniel O'Brien also scored against the Panthers.
 
The victory was not only the first of the season for the Hatters, but the first Stetson victory for new head coach Cristian Neagu.
 
Bucknell (1-1) hosts Canisius on Friday before welcoming the Hatters on Sunday. The Bison defeated Mount St. Mary's in their season opener, and dropped a 2-0 decision last weekend to St. Francis, Pa.
 
News & Notes: Stetson and Bucknell are meeting for the second time … Stetson leads the all-time series, 1-0, after a 3-0 win last year in DeLand … Deniz Dogan (twice) and Daniel O'Brien each scored for the Hatters … the goals scored by Elvis Menayese against FIU were the first of his career … goalkeeper Braeden Luna picked up his first career victory in goal against the Panthers … after Sunday's game the Hatters play three of the next four at home.
 
Up Next: The Hatters finally open their home schedule when they host ASUN Conference newcomer Liberty, 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Athletic Training Center.
