Daytona Beach, Fla. – Despite bouncing back from a tough second round, the Stetson women's golf team slipped to a fourth place finish on Monday in the Babs Steffens Hatter Classic.
The Hatters posted a final round score of 302 on the LPGA International Hills course. That was not low enough to make up ground on the two teams in front of them – Lamar and Bradley – or hold off Seminole State, which posted a final round score of 294 to slip past Stetson into third place.
Lamar was able to hang on to its lead by posting a 297 in the final round, beating Bradley by five shots. The Braves made up three shots with a final round 294, which tied Seminole State's final round for the low team round of the event.
Bradley's Taylor Ledwein posted a one-over par 73 in the final round to pull away from Lamar's Laura Pasalodos Barcelo for medalist honors. Ledwein finished the tournament with a one-over par score of 217. Barcelo finished second after a final round 76 left her at four-over par 220 for the tournament.
