Braselton, Ga. – The Stetson men's golf team posted its best score of the three-day ASUN Championship in Tuesday's final round at The Legends Course at Chateau Elan.
The Hatters closed the 2019 tournament with a team score of 306, finishing eighth in the event.
North Florida collected its program's sixth ASUN Championship, becoming the 12th league team to earn back-to-back trophies.
UNF senior Jordan Batchelor led from wire-to-wire to grab individual medalist honors as he finished the tournament at five-under par, 211. He becomes the first league golfer to lead after every round since 2016 and third in the past 10 seasons.
Bolstered by Batchelor and Andrew Alligood, the Ospreys captured the wire-to-wire victory for the team's third tournament title of the season.
Liberty claimed runner-up status in their first ASUN Championship thanks to top-five performances from Gabe Lench and Kieran Vincent who tied for third place at one-under par. Lench fired an even par in the final round, while Vincent registered a three-under par, 69.
Stetson was led in the final round by freshman
Carson Tewell, who posted an even par 72. Seniors
Baylor Payne and
Tate Smith closed out their collegiate careers with rounds of 78 and 80. Junior
Chris Williard closed the year with a 76 while freshman
Michael Sumner finished his rookie season with an 85.
