Hatters Host Cincinnati, Jacksonville to Close Regular Season

Stetson lacrosse hosts its final home games of the year this weekend when the Hatters welcome Cincinnati on Thursday and ASUN Conference leader Jacksonville on Sunday. Both game will be played at the Athletic Training and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

News & Notes
  • With the final home weekend of the year comes the annual celebration of Stetson's seniors. Senior Day will be held on Thursday prior to the start of the game with Cincinnati. Sandra Stephan, Shelby Lehmann, Audrey Tatge and Taryn Cook-Grisewood will be honored.
  • The Hatters will need a win on Saturday against Jacksonville AND a loss by Kennesaw State at Howard to qualify for the ASUN Tournament, which begins next weekend in Conway, S.C.
  • The Bearcats enter Thursday's non-conference game at 10-5 overall and 4-0 in American Athletic Conference play. Cincinnati has won seven straight games.
  • Jacksonville can clinch its 7th straight ASUN Conference regular season title with a win on Saturday. The Dolphins have won or shared the regular season crown in each year the conference has sponsored women's lacrosse.
  • Stetson is 1-2 all-time against Cincinnati. The Hatters' only victory was a 9-6 decision on Feb. 19, 2016 in DeLand.
  • The Hatters are 0-7 all-time against Jacksonville
Record Watch
  • Several records may fall in the final weekend of the season
  • Shelby Lehmann needs five points to become Stetson's all-time points leader. She currently has 163 and the record is 168 by Hallie Merz (2015-18).
  • Lehmann can also set program career records for goals (has 85, record is 89), assists (78-87)
  • Lehmann already owns season records for assists (37, 2 ahead of Riley Reagan) and points (57), though Reagan is one point behind her entering the weekend
  • Marina Rotella leads the Hatters with 41 goals this season and needs just two more to surpass Sam Maguire (42, 2017) as the program's single-season leader
  • Reagan is second in single season draw controls with 54, but she's well behind record holder Maddie Holvey (69, 2018)
  • Sarah Trupp has already set records for caused turnovers in a season (24) and career (48)
