Alumni Spotlight: Jonathan Mendoza

Today we continue our Alumni Spotlight series with former Hatter Jonathan Mendoza '12. Jonathan played for the Hatters from 2009-12, helping Stetson reach the NCAA Tournament in 2009. He is Stetson's only men's soccer All-American, achieving 3rd-team status from the NSCAA in 2011.

Why Stetson?
Stetson was one of the first Division I programs to approach me with the opportunity to play in college and complete my Bachelor's. Head Coach Logan Fleck is the real reason I chose Stetson. I just really loved the atmosphere of the program.

How did Stetson Men's Soccer Prepare you for your career?
Stetson's Soccer program was a great place for me to grow and better myself before playing professionally.  All of the lessons and experiences from Stetson helped me become a better player and set me up for success at the next level.

Favorite Stetson Men's Soccer memory?
My favorite memory would have to be winning the ASUN Championship as a freshman in 2009.  There is no better feeling than winning a conference championship with your teammates.  It was very rewarding to see all of our team's hard work pay off with a trophy at the end of the year!
