GREENVILLE, N.C. – Hatter women's golf took an eighth-place finish in the Pirate Collegiate Classic at Greenville Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina.
 
Stetson was in eighth wire-to-wire at the tournament where every team struggle. ECU won the event but was 16 over par overall and were only two strokes ahead of SU after the first round. The Hats were consistent finishing each round within seven strokes, finishing round three with their best performance, a 302 which was fifth Tuesday afternoon.
 
Freshman Victoria Leach finished as the overall leader for Stetson, hitting a 228 over three rounds. Senior Wendy Hsiao paced round two with a 74 and finished one stroke behind Leach. Grace Smith, Lisa Colee and Filippa Jansson rounded out Stetson's five, each within nine strokes of Leach, finishing at 33, 38 and 46 of the field of 64.
 
In a schedule change Hatter women's golf will travel to Macon, Georgia next for the Mercer Invitational at the Brickyard Golf Club on October 31 through November 1. The 45th annual Pat Bradley Invitational was canceled due to damage sustained during Hurricane Ian. Many of the participants have signed up for the Mercer Invitational including former host FIU.
