Henson and Neuschaeferova named AVCA Second-Team All-America

Lexington, Ky. – The Stetson University beach volleyball squad's No. 1 pair of Shae Henson and Kylie Neuschaeferova were named Second-Team All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

Henson, a junior from Merritt Island and Neuschaeferova, a freshman from Prague, Czech Republic primarily played at the No. 1 position for the Hatters this season as the pair recorded a 24-12 overall record and went 7-2 against ASUN opponents. The duo continued their dominance in the ASUN Conference Championship where the pair went 5-0 in pool play, helping the Hatters to their sixth league title in program history and earning Stetson the second ever automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA championship.

Henson and Neuschaeferova earned three ASUN Pair of the Week honors, the most of any pair in the league. The duo had eight wins over AVCA Top-20 opponents, highlighted by wins over No. 2 TCU, No. 4 FSU, No. 10 FAU, and two wins over No. 18 South Carolina. Henson was recognized on the preseason all-conference team as the pair went on to earn ASUN first-team honors while Neuschaeferova was named ASUN Freshman of the Year.

This is the second consecutive season that a Stetson duo earned All-America status as Neuschaeferova and Henson became the fourth Stetson beach volleyball pair to accomplish the feat.

Henson, Neuschaeferova, and the rest of the Hatters look to continue their success in 2022, as Stetson gears up for the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. beginning on May 4. The selection show is set for Saturday, April 30 at 9 p.m. on NCAA.com.
