Women's cross country resumes at Lehigh for Paul Short Run

DELAND, Fla. – Hatter women's cross country will compete at one of the largest national contests in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University. The team is also avoiding any Hurricane Ian related schedule changes by departing last night. Live results linked on the schedule page and within the article.

Per lehighsports.com about the release about the event, "With the 48th edition of the Lehigh Paul Short Run only a few days away, race assignments for all teams are now posted.  Each race will utilize 47 boxes to accommodate teams and box assignments will be posted prior to race day.  The Paul Short Run will be one of the largest cross-country events in the world with a total of 3,692 college entries spread over 286 teams.  The high school portion will have 203 teams and 1903 entries."

"We just need to take a look at what we've done since that UNF Meet," head coach Bryan Harmon said about the layoff between events "So when you talk about training, you talk about hard sessions and easy sessions. We've done really good about recovering on the easy sessions, and we've been good about making sure it counts when we get a hard session in. We're looking forward to going up and getting some cooler whether. It's great because we don't get that down here sometimes until late October or November. The temperatures are supposed to be near perfect. We'll focus on one thing at a time and take each task at hand, executing it then moving on."

Stetson has maintained great results this season finishing fourth of nine at the UCF Invite and finishing three points behind North Florida for second of eight at the UNF Invite, but this will be by far the biggest competition for SU as they will compete in the College Female Brown heat with 47 other institutions within that heat. Of that 47, 27 teams will represent schools competing at the division I level.
