DELAND, Fla. - Stetson University's Director of Athletics Jeff Altier announced a leadership change for the women's soccer program on Thursday as current Head Coach
Chris Bergmann decided to step down from his position to pursue other opportunities.
"I want to thank Chris for his 5 years of service and commitment to Stetson. I wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward to pursue other opportunities," Jeff Altier.
Stetson finished the 2023 season with a 3-12-3 overall record narrowly missing the ASUN Championship by finishing in 9th as the top eight seeds advance. If the Hatters would have qualified it would have been the first of Bergmann's tenure.
"I have given 20 plus years to the coaching world. I have decided to take this time and pursue other avenues that will allow me to spend more time with my family. I am grateful for the opportunity Stetson University gave me and I wish them the best," said Bergmann.
The Stetson's women's soccer program started in 1993 and has an overall record of 200-310-46.  Â
