HUNTSVILLE, AL - Day two of the AVCA Pairs National Championships saw the pair
Katie Camp and
Maria Ozaeta split two matches going 1-1, while the pair of
Julia Czurylo and
Hanna Gubik went 0-2. On Sunday Camp and Ozaeta fell to Hawaii 2-1, while Czurylo and Gubik dropped a match to Washington 2-0.
Saturday:
Camp and Ozaeta lost the early morning match to TCU's pair Maria Gonzalez and Hailey Hamlett 12-21,18-21. In the afternoon the Stetson pair earned the victory over the Arizona State pair Arden Besecker and Samaya Morin 21-14,21-16.
Czurylo and Gubik fell in the first match of the day to Tulane's pair McKenzie Cutler and Emily Heintzelman 16-21,22-24. In their second match of the day the pair lost to Emma Eden and Mckenna Thomas from Pepperdine.
Sunday:
The pair of Camp and Ozaeta lost a hard fought three set match to Alana Embry and Jasmine Wandeler from Hawaii 15-21,23-21,12-15. Czurylo and Gubik fell on Sunday in a match with Washington's pair of Niki Egan and Jade Sadeiko 13-21,16-21.
The AVCA Pairs National Championship concludes the fall season for the Stetson beach team. The Hatters will resume competition in the new year.
