THE LEAD
The Stetson Hatters hit the road for a quick break before hosting three straight at the ATC. Prior to their conference opener, the Hatters travel to Raleigh, N.C. on Friday, Sept. 13 to face the 24th ranked NC State Wolfpack.
It's been a slow start for Stetson, who enters the game with a 1-3-1 record. However, it's been a tough slate to begin the season as the teams that Stetson has played hold a combined record of 14-5-5. The Hatters lone win on the year came over FIU, who has just upset #10 UCF.
Stetson drew even against UAB in their last time out as
Afonso Conde netted his first goal of the 2024 campaign.
Maurice Hauser leads the Hatters with a pair of goals while team captain
Charles Ahl leads with a trio of assists.
Nicolo Radaelli has started all five games in the net, yielding nine goals on 54 faced shots while recording 20 saves.
The Wolfpack is coming off of their first ACC game that resulted in a 2-1 win over California last friday as well a 7-0 shutout over Winthrop on Tuesday. The seven goal victory marked the first time the program has scored seven goals in a game since 1996.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The two teams met for the first time in program history last season on Sept. 4 when Stetson shutout the Wolfpack at home in a 2-0 midweek win.
Andres Mata and
Charles Ahl both will look to run it back after scoring in the prior match.
NEXT UP
Stetson will return to DeLand for a three-game homestand starting with their beginning to conference play against North Florida on Sept. 21.
