Stetson Golfers Set The Pace In South Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Matthis Lefèvre shares the individual lead, and Stetson is tied atop the team standings after 36 holes at the 55th Furman Intercollegiate, hosted at the Furman University Golf Club.

With 18 holes remaining in the 54-hole event, the 87-player field will return to the par-71, 7,131-yard course on Sunday. Due to forecasted inclement weather, the final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.

Stetson enters the final round with a 2-stroke lead at 2-under par, tied with Campbell for the team lead. Winthrop sits in third place, two shots back, while Virginia Tech and host Furman are tied for fourth at 2-over.

Lefèvre, a senior transfer from Hossegor, France, set the tone early with a bogey-free 6-under 65 in the morning round, highlighted by six birdies—five of them coming on the front nine. He followed with a 1-over 72 in the afternoon to finish the day at 5-under, sharing the individual lead with Winthrop's Mason Kucia.

Two other Hatters, Gaspar Glaudas and Rasmus Ronnberg, are tied for 18th at 1-over par. Glaudas posted rounds of 73-70, while Ronnberg carded 71-72. Simon Engman is tied for 38th at 4-over, and Gabriel Lindahl bounced back from a tough opening round to shoot even par in the afternoon, ending the day at 8-over.

Thanattasorn Supinraj, competing as an individual in just his second collegiate tournament, posted rounds of 79-77 and stands at 14-over par.

Stetson will conclude its fall season next week at the Florida Atlantic Invitational, Oct. 27–28, at Panther National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
