Stetson Golfers Post Top 4 Finish

ESTERO, Fla. – Senior transfer Matthis Lefèvre finished tied for fourth individually to lead the Stetson men's golf team to a share of fourth place at the West Bay Collegiate, hosted by FGCU at West Bay Club.

Lefèvre carded rounds of 67-67-71 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 11-under-par 205, just four strokes behind medalist Vaughn McMeans of George Mason. Three Hatters placed among the top 20 individually, with Simon Engman finishing 18th at 5-under, one stroke ahead of Gabriel Lindahl, who tied for 19th at 4-under. Engman recorded rounds of 72-71-69, while Lindahl followed an opening-round 72 with back-to-back 2-under-par 70s.

Engman, a junior from Gothenburg, Sweden, posted Stetson's low round of the day with a 3-under 69 — his second-lowest round and sixth score at par or better this season. Over his final 36 holes, he recorded seven birdies against just three bogeys on the 6,939-yard, par-72 course.

The Hatters earned their second top-five finish of the young season, tying George Mason for fourth at 24-under-par. Host FGCU claimed the team title at 37-under, followed by Elon at 29-under and Eastern Michigan at 27-under.

Freshman Thanattasorn Supinraj, competing as an individual in his collegiate debut, tied for 34th in the 71-player field. The Udon Thani, Thailand, native turned in rounds of 72-70-74 to finish at even par.

Senior Gaspar Glaudas shot even par in the final round to close at 2-over and in 42nd place. Rasmus Ronnberg finished 55th at 7-over, while James McNair, also playing as an individual, tied for 65th at 13-over.

Stetson continues its busy October schedule at the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, South Carolina, Oct. 18–19, before wrapping up the fall season at the Florida Atlantic Invitational, Oct. 27–28.
