TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Matthis Lefèvre shot the second lowest individual round of the day and the Stetson men's golf team posted its sixth top-5 finish in seven tournaments with a third place showing at the Seminole Intercollegiate at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.

The Hatters finished the 54-hole event with a 17-over par 881, five strokes behind runner-up Southern Miss. Tournament host Florida State claimed a decisive victory in the 21-team event at 8-under par.

Lefèvre, a native of Hossegor, France, turned in a 3-under par 69 to finish the tournament at even par and share seventh place among the 112-golfer field. Teammate Simon Engman finished at 3-over par to tie four other golfers in 14th place.

Eastern Kentucky's Anders Larson claimed medalist honors by one stroke with rounds of 69-74-66 to finish at 7-under, one stroke ahead of Florida State's Tyler Weaver.

Stetson's Jackson Hicks moved up 13 places on the leaderboard after today's final round, finishing tied for 22nd at 6-over par after matching 1-over par 73s in his final two rounds. Rasmus Ronnberg and Gaspar Glaudas shared 66th place with 10 other golfers at 15-over par.

A graduate transfer who played college golf at New Mexico Junior College and the University of Arkansas before arriving at Stetson, Lefèvre led the field in par 3 scoring with an average of 2.58 over the course of the tournament. He registered seven birdies and four bogeys in today's final round.

Stetson takes a week off before returning to competition at the Seahawk Intercollegiate in Wilmington, N.C. on March 30-31. The Hatters conclude their regular season at the Gile-Spratley Collegiate in Richmond, Va. on April 6-7.
