HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — No. 1 Stetson opened the ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship with a dominant 5-0 sweep of No. 8 Austin Peay on Wednesday.

The Hatters set the tone early in the No. 5 flight as Madeline Camp and Cayla Sutton delivered a commanding 21-8, 21-6 victory over Emma Loiars and Cami Missig. Julia Czurylo and Zoe Flueckiger followed in the No. 3 spot with a straight-sets win, 21-15, 21-11, to extend the lead.

Stetson clinched the dual in the top flight, where Maria Ozaeta and Marta Carro defeated Grace Austin and Isabella Russell, 21-8, 21-6, securing the decisive third point.

Katie Camp and Anniina Muukka added another win in the No. 4 position with a 21-14, 21-14 result, and EJ Cudmore and Julia Radelczuk capped off the sweep in the No. 2 flight, earning a 21-11, 21-18 victory.

"We had a really strong start this morning. We wanted to start off well and I thought our 3's and 5's were aggressive right out the gate," said Head Coach Kristina Hernandez.
