Hatters Extend Win Streak to 10 with Pair of Wins at Sparky Invitational

Tempe, Ariz. — No. 15 Stetson continued its strong run Friday at the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility, sweeping Ottawa (Ariz.) 5-0 before defeating FIU 4-1 to extend its winning streak to 10 matches.

The Hatters opened the day with a dominant 5-0 victory over Ottawa, controlling all five courts.

Anniina Muukka and Rylee Palmateer set the tone at the No. 4 flight with a decisive 21-8, 21-10 win over Katy Shockey and Alicia Romero. EJ Cudmore and Julia Radelczuk followed with a commanding 21-10, 21-10 victory at No. 2 against Olga Romero and Shea Marovich.

Zoe Flueckiger and Lucie Nosálková added another point at No. 3, defeating Shayna Martinez and Leah John 21-10, 21-7. At the top flight, Maria Ozaeta and Marta Carro continued the momentum with a 21-11, 21-13 win over Eliana Dean and Maya Blake.

Madeline Camp and Cayla Sutton completed the sweep at No. 5, outlasting Marielle Ramos and Gabriela Corrales 21-19, 21-17.

Stetson carried that momentum into its second match of the day, earning a 4-1 victory over FIU.

Katie Camp and Muukka opened the dual with a three-set win at No. 4, rallying past Elizabeth Nye and Lauren Coady, 19-21, 21-16, 15-9. FIU responded at No. 2, where H. Gubik and Nicole Robison edged Cudmore and Radelczuk in three sets, 21-19, 11-21, 15-12.

The Hatters regained control at No. 5 as Camp and Sutton defeated Madalyn Wade and Hailey Prodan in straight sets, 21-13, 21-16.

The decisive point came at No. 3, where Julia Czurylo and Zoe Flueckiger secured the dual with a hard-fought 21-15, 18-21, 16-14 victory over Isabella Pereira and Kendra Brown.

After the decision, Ozaeta and Carro capped the day with a three-set comeback win at the top flight, defeating Katarina Drozd and Brianna Luoma 21-17, 15-21, 15-10.
