ATHENS, Ga. — Stetson University golfer Matthis Lefèvre will continue his standout season next week when he competes as an individual at the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Regionals, hosted by the University of Georgia.
The three-day, 54-hole regional championship is scheduled for Monday-Wednesday at the University of Georgia Golf Course. The 7,258-yard, par 72 layout was designed by Robert Trent Jones and originally opened in 1968. It was renovated by Love Golf Design in 2006.
Lefèvre joins the 65-golfer field looking to earn a berth in the NCAA Championships later this month in Carlsbad, Calif. A total of 11 teams and 10 individual qualifiers were selected to compete based on either earning their conference's championship or obtaining an at-large invitation.
Lefèvre received an at-large selection to the NCAA postseason after putting together one of the finest individual seasons in program history. The Hossegor, France native was named the 2026 ASUN Conference Golfer of the Year and earned first-team all-conference honors following a season that included three tournament victories and a team-best scoring average. He was also selected as a ASUN Academic Team honoree.
The graduate transfer, who is working toward a master's degree in business administration, made a significant impact in his only season at Stetson, recording 22 rounds at par or better and nine rounds in the 60s while capturing medalist honors at the Furman Invitational, Dorado Beach Collegiate and Sam Ryder Intercollegiate.
Lefèvre enters one of the nation's deepest regional fields, joining 11 teams and 10 individuals competing for spots in the NCAA Championships. The Athens Regional field includes top programs such as Auburn, Illinois, Vanderbilt, BYU and host Georgia.
To advance to the NCAA Championships, Lefèvre must finish as the top individual not on one of the five advancing teams from the regional field. The NCAA Championships will be held May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
