Charleston, S.C. ? Junior Tommy Parker (Palm Beach, Fla./Benjamin HS) of the Stetson men's golf team fired a two over par 218 over three rounds to tie for third place individually at the Charleston Southern Fall Invitational Monday and Tuesday.  He shot 73-70-75 at the par-72 Crowfield Plantation Golf Club layout as the Hatters finished in 10th place overall.

Sophomore Dave McAndrew (Barrington, R.I.) shot rounds of 78-68-79 to tie for 11th place at +9.  His 68 in the second of Monday's two rounds was the lowest overall score of the second round and tied for the lowest score in the entire tournament.  Freshman Matt Pitts (Orlando, Fla./Pendleton HS) carded 77-83-80 to tie for 61st at +24 and classmate Gabe Costa (Tequesta, Fla./Benjamin School) was one stroke behind with scores of 80-76-85.  Senior Kris Stewart (Edgewater, Fla./New Smyrna Beach HS) rounded out the Stetson contingent; he started the tournament with rounds of 77 and 76 on Monday but ran into difficulty yesterday and finished with a 92.

Radford won the team title by 15 strokes with its +22 score with Longwood placing second.  Belmont Abbey came in third at +39, followed by Florida Gulf Coast (+41) in fourth, a fifth place tie between Liberty and Presbyterian (+42 each), a seventh place tie between Gardner-Webb and Jacksonville at +48 and then the Hatters one shot back at +49.  Host Charleston Southern took 11th (+68) with Creighton bringing up the rear at 88 over par.

The Hatters tee it up for the final time this fall at their own Stetson Invitational, which will be held Monday-Tuesday, Nov. 5-6 at Victoria Hills Country Club in DeLand.  36 holes will be played on Monday with the final 18-hole round the next day.
