Buies Creek, N.C. ? Sophomore Lauren Darnell has moved into second place in the Atlantic Sun Women's Golf Championship after two days of competition, behind Campbell's Alejandra Shaw.
Darnell started day two in a tie for ninth place. Darnell shot a 73 (+1) to lead Stetson to a second place standing after two rounds. The Hatters finished with a second day total of 309 (+21) to move up from third place to second as a team. The Campbell Camels took the top spot on the Overall Team Leaderboard for the second day with a second round total of 301 (+13).
Junior Kara Doyle, who started the day in a tie for third, has moved into a tie for ninth place, carding an 80 (+8) on day two.
Freshman Danielle Jackson improved on day, moving up from 16th to a tie for 13th place with a 78 (+6) score in today's round. Sophomore Ashley Kozlowski made the most dramatic move on the leaderboard for Stetson on day two, coming from a tie for 20th after day one to a two-way tie for 15th (78, +6). Senior Ainsley Wellinghoff finished the second day of play moving up for a 38th place tie (82, +10).
The Championship concludes at 8:00 am on Wednesday at the Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, N.C.
