Miami, Fla. ? The Stetson women's golf team finished in tie for eighth place overall in the Ryder Florida Women's College Challenge this weekend at the Don Shula Golf Resort in Miami Lakes.
As a team the Hatters shot a total of 953 (321, 320, 312), putting them in a tie with the University of Miami. Team members included freshman Danielle Jackson (Seminole, Fla.), sophomore Ashley Kozlowski (Windsor, CT.), freshman Lauren Darnell (Gainesville, Fla.), sophomore Natalia Godoy (Weston, Fla.) and junior Kara Doyle (St. Louis, Mo.).
Danielle Jackson led the way for the Hatters team with a three round total of 232 (78, 77, 77) to finish in a three way tie for 13th place overall. Teammate Ashley Kozlowski rounded out the top twenty, finishing the tournament in a tie for 20th with a 234 (76, 81, 77).
Lauren Darnell ended the weekend in a tie for 42nd with a score of 243 (84, 81, 78). Natalia Godoy finished in a tie fir 51st with a 253 (92, 81, 80) while Kara Doyle rounded out the Stetson team with a 255 (83, 92, 80) to finish in 54th.
The women's golf team will compete in the Atlantic Sun Tournament in Buies Creek, North Carolina on April 9-11.
