DeLand, Fla. ? Senior Brenden Kennedy (Newport, N.H.) fired a five under-par 67 to lead the Stetson men's golf team to a 289-312 win over visiting Harvard in a dual match Saturday afternoon at Victoria Hills Country Club. Sophomore Dave McAndrew (Barrington, R.I.) also broke par as the Hatters played +1 golf as a team.
McAndrew's 71 paired nicely with Kennedy's 67 to give Stetson a comfortable lead at the top of the lineup. Junior Tommy Parker (Palm Beach, Fla.) and freshman Michael Stewart (Edgewater, Fla.) rounded out the scoring pack for the Hatters with scores of 74 and 77, respectively. Senior Joey Costella (DeLand, Fla./Monson Academy) shot 86.
Danny Mayer led Harvard with a two over-par 74 while Michael Shore shot 77 and Timmy Wu carded a 79. John Christensen shot 82 for their fourth counting score.
The Hatters host Seton Hall at 1 p.m. Wednesday for their third and final dual match.
