Titusville, Fla. -- The Stetson men's cross country team finished in second place in a 5K race and the women placed third also in a 5K race Friday afternoon at the FLRunners.com Invitational.
Competing in his hometown, Drew Denson led the Hatter men and finished in second place among Division I competitors with a time of 16:37.
Also for Stetson, Joe Beery placed third with a time of 16:42, Andrew Townes placed ninth with a time of 17:48, Ryan Hodgins placed 12th with a time of 18:34, Kyle Meerdo placed 13th with a time of 18:52, Austyn Finnk placed 16th with a time of 19:45, Ryan Newfrock placed 17th with a time of 19:58, and James Welch placed 19th with a time of 20:32.
Adrienne DeVita led the Hatter women and finished in ninth place overall among Division I competitors with a time of 19:20. Also for Stetson, Clarissa Consol placed 12th a time of 19:40, Rachel Dumas placed 17th with a time of 20:09, Amanda Spring placed 19th with a time of 20:21, Jessica Cosgrove placed 26th with a time of 20:48, Rachel Frankenberger placed 27th with a time of 20:50, Daniella Godenzi placed 28th with a time of 20:56, Trixi Menge placed 30th with a time of 21:14, Emily Nolan placed 32nd with a time of 22:13, Connie Compton placed 35th with a time of 24:09, and Christine Iseley placed 36th with a time of 25:03.
Stetson will compete at the FSU Invitational next Friday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla.
