Gainesville, Fla. -- The Stetson men's cross country team finished 10th out of 12 teams and the women finished 12th out of 13 teams Saturday morning at the Mountain Dew Invitational at the University of Florida Golf Course.

Sophomore Clarissa Consol set a new Stetson all-time 5K record with a time of 18:27.  She finished in 36th place overall.  Also for Stetson, Adrienne DeVita finished 72nd with a time of 19:06, Amanda Spring finished 91st with a time of 19:36, Rachel Dumas finished 93rd with a time of 19:37, Rachel Frankenberger finished 112th with a time of 20:07, Jessica Cosgrove finished 113th with a time of 20:08, Trixi Menge finished 121st with a time of 20:28, and Daniella Godenzi finished 122nd with a time of 20:32. 

Sophomore Joe Beery led the Hatter men in the 8K race and finished in 46th place overall with a time of 26:52.18.  That mark was just .56 seconds shy of the Stetson all-time 8K record. Also for Stetson, Drew Denson finished 53rd with a time of 27:10.5, Andrew Townes finished 67th with a time of 28:00.61, Kyle Meerdo finished 78th with a time of 30:19.37, Ryan Hodgins finished 80th with a time of 31:12.74, Ryan Newfrock finished 81st with a time of 32:23.80, and Austyn Finnk finished 82nd with a time of 32:25.99.

Overall, two Hatter men and four Hatter women set personal career best times.

The Hatters will compete at the Embry-Riddle Invitational next Saturday morning in Daytona Beach.
