Hatters Host Jacksonville in ASUN Tournament Opener

Stetson women's soccer begins its quest for the program's first ASUN Tournament title when the No. 3 seed Hatters host No. 6 Jacksonville, 7 p.m., Saturday at the Athletic Training Center. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

The winner of Saturday's match will advance to next weekend's semifinals, which are being held in Nashville, Tenn., at the home of regular season champion Lipscomb. The semis are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3 while the championship game is on Sunday, Nov. 5.

Stetson (9-3-3) and Jacksonville (4-10-0) will be meeting for the second time in a week after the Hatters edged the Dolphins, 2-1, in the regular-season finale for both teams last Saturday in DeLand. Adrianna Suarez and Sarah Collins each scored goals for the Hatters as the teams played their fifth straight one-goal game.

The Hatters are 6-12-2 all-time in ASUN Tournament games, but have reached the semifinals in each of the last two seasons. Last year, Stetson defeated North Florida (5-2) in a home quarterfinal match up.
