Men’s Golf Adds Graduate Transfer from USC for 2022-23 Season

Stetson University men's golf coach Danny Forshey was busy during the winter break building the Hatters for the future.

His efforts resulted in the signing of Cameron Henry from Los Gatos, Calif. Henry is currently a senior member of the golf program at the University of Southern California and will attend Stetson as a graduate transfer.

"We are very excited to have Cameron join us here at Stetson next fall," Forshey said. "He comes from a top Power 5 conference and brings a wealth of experience against some of the best collegiate players in the nation.

"He has the mindset and work ethic that has produced some low scores in his career. He will be a huge asset to our program next year."

Cameron HenryHenry, who is a Communication major at USC, became a starter for the Trojans as a sophomore, after making his collegiate debut in 2019 with a fifth-place finish at the Western Intercollegiate with a four-under par score of 206,  opening with a round of 66 that included seven birdies in his first collegiate competition.

In addition to his collegiate play, Henry has posted a number of top 10 finishes at amateur events across the United States and Canada during his playing career. He finished fourth at the Nevada State Amateur last summer and finished eighth at the Monterey City Amateur in 2021. In 2020 he earned a second place at the Silverado Amateur and a tie for eighth at the Memorial Amateur.

In 2019 Henry finished tied for 15th at the Canadian Men's Amateur.

Henry is the third signee who will join Forshey and the Hatters for the 2022-23 season.

The current Stetson team is scheduled to open the spring season February 6-8 in Winter Park, Fla., at the Bucknell Veterans Intercollegiate. That will be the first of seven spring events for the Hatters, a slate that will conclude April 24-26 at the ASUN Championship in Athens, Ga.
