DeLAND, Fla. - Stetson University's Men's Golf program proudly unveils an impressive lineup of signings, headlined by the acquisition of Gaspar Glaudas, a standout talent from Sainte Tulle, France. Glaudas, the #1 player in the country out of Indian Hills Community College, marks the second consecutive year that the Hatters have secured the top recruit, following the successful addition of
Dominic Clemons last year.
"I'm super excited and fired up about this recruiting class," said Head Coach
Danny Forshey. "I think it really helps with what we're building here at Stetson."
In his freshman spring season, Glaudas demonstrated exceptional prowess, competing in all six events for the Warriors and contributing to their seventh national championship in program history. His remarkable performance at the 2023 NJCAA National Championship, where he secured All-American honors with a 9-under 279, underscored his talent.
Glaudas earned multiple accolades during his freshman campaign, including being named NJCAA DI PING All-American, NJCAA DI All-Central District, and making the 2023 NJCAA GCAA All-Freshman team. Notably, he clinched two individual titles at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate and the Bethany College Classic, showcasing his consistency and leadership on the course.
This past fall, Glaudas continued to shine as the Warrior's top finisher in four of their five events. In those four finishes, he placed within the top five in three, with a T-8th finish in the NJCAA National Preview. His outstanding season featured an individual win at the Big O Classic on Oct. 2-3, shooting six under to lead the team to a T-3rd finish. He replicated this success in the following Throw Down 'Up Top' tournament, shooting six under to secure a fourth-place individual finish, earning him the distinction of being the top junior college finisher in the event. Following that tournament, the sophomore was awarded his third consecutive Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golfer of the Week award.
Adding to the excitement, Stetson welcomes four more exceptional signees to their class. Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul, the #4 player in the country, and Måns Boje, the #8 player in the country, bring international flair to the team. Viboonviriyasakul, a sophomore from Maha Sarakham, Thailand, joins from the New Mexico Military Institute, while Boje, hailing from Ronneby, Sweden, transfers after a successful freshman year at Ranger College in Texas.
Jackson Hicks, the #19 player in the country and a sophomore from Roswell, New Mexico, joins the Hatters along with Viboonviriyasakul from New Mexico Military Institute. Completing the stellar recruiting class is James McNair, an incoming freshman from Kleinburg, Ontario, Canada.
"We are very excited to add these fantastic players to our program," said Forshey. "They all have the competitive spirit that we look for here at Stetson."
