PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - The Stetson Hatters concluded their fall season with a strong performance, finishing 4th out of 12 teams at the Florida Atlantic Invitational held at the Champions Course at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This marked their first full tournament since September 20, following the cancellation of their last event due to rain and Hurricane Milton. Under Head Coach Danny Forshey, this result represents his 24th top-5 finish at Stetson.
The tournament took place from October 28-29, featuring a 54-hole stroke play format where five scores counted towards the team total. The Hatters wrapped up the event with a total score of 877, finishing 25 over par, and narrowly edged out their Central Florida rival, UCF, by just two strokes. Their round scores were 291 in the first round, 294 in the second, and 292 in the final round.
Individually, Simon Engman led the Hatters, tying for 7th place with a total score of 216, shooting 72 in each round. Mans Boje finished tied for 24th with a score of 220, posting rounds of 74, 75, and 71. Jackson Hicks ended in a tie for 34th with a total of 222, recording scores of 74, 71, and 77. Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul tied for 40th with a score of 223, with round scores of 73, 76, and 74. Gaspar Glaudas finished tied for 52nd with a score of 228, after rounds of 72, 81, and 75. Gabriel Lindahl, competing as an individual, tied for 62nd with a total of 232, with rounds of 79, 78, and 75.
As the Hatters wrap up their fall season, they look forward to their next competition at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, scheduled for February 24-26, 2024, at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, NV.
