PAWLEY'S ISLAND, SC – The Stetson men's golf team kicked off their 2024-25 season in impressive fashion at the Golfweek Fall Challenge, held at True Blue Golf Club, a par-72 course in Pawley's Island, South Carolina. The Hatters surged on the final day, shooting 12-under to secure a 4th-place finish in a competitive 15-team field. Stetson wrapped up the tournament at 9-under overall, finishing behind Arkansas State (-35), Wright State (-23), and Austin Peay (-17).
After an opening-round score of 288, the Hatters posted a 291 on day two. However, they found their rhythm in the final round, firing a 12-under 276 to finish with a total score of 855.
Leading the way for Stetson was Gaspar Glaudas, who finished tied for 8th at 5-under. Glaudas opened with a 69 on Sunday, followed by back-to-back rounds of 71 to close with a 211 total.
Mans Boje wasn't far behind, finishing tied for 11th at 4-under. Boje played a key role in Stetson's final-round surge, carding a tournament second-best 65 (-7) on day three, bringing his overall score to 212.
Maverick Conaway and Gabriel Lindahl both finished tied for 36th at 3-over with identical tournament totals of 219.
Rounding out the Hatters' starting lineup was Simon Engman, who posted a 5-over total to tie for 42nd.
Competing as an individual, Jackson Hicks delivered a strong performance, finishing 18th with a 2-over total, highlighted by a final-round 68.
As a team, Stetson recorded 172 pars, 49 birdies, and two eagles. They also averaged the second-lowest strokes on par-4 holes and tied for the second-lowest on par-5s.
Hicks led the entire field with a 2.80 (-3) average on par-3s, while Glaudas followed closely with a 2.87 (-2). Lindahl posted the second-best average on par-4s with a 3.79 (-5).
Conaway paced the Hatters with 39 pars, while Hicks and Glaudas each recorded 14 birdies. Boje and Conaway also sank eagles during the final round—Boje on the 9th hole and Conaway on the 4th.
Stetson will look to build on their strong start when they compete at the William H. Tucker Invitational, September 20-21, at The Championship Course at UNM in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
