DeLAND, Fla. – The Stetson University men's golf team will look to capture back-to-back tournament victories when it travels to Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., to compete in the Florida Atlantic Invitational at Panther National beginning Monday.
The Hatters will face a competitive 17-team field that includes Abilene Christian, Campbell, Creighton, Florida, host Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, North Alabama, Samford, Seton Hall, Tarleton State, Troy, UCF, South Florida, the U.S. Naval Academy, and West Georgia.
For the second straight event, Stetson's lineup will include Simon Engman, Gaspar Glaudas, Matthis Lefèver, Gabriel Lindahl and Rasmus Ronnberg.
Live event results will be available throughout the tournament by clicking here.
Each team will compete with five golfers with the lowest four scores from each round counting toward the team total. Round one of the 54-hole event tees off on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Round two will follow immediately upon completion of round one. Final round action is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. with team pairings determined by placings following Monday's second round.
A collaborative design by Jack Nicklaus and Justin Thomas, Panther National's championship course opened in 2023 and stretches 7,864 yards from the championship tees. The par-72 layout features signature island greens at holes 5 and 15, with water or forced carries on all but four holes. Located in Palm Beach Gardens, the course sits between the Atlantic Ocean to the east and nature preserves and the Everglades to the west.
Panther National will also host "The Skins Game" on Nov. 28—a made-for-television event featuring professional golfers Tommy Fleetwood, Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and Keegan Bradley. The exhibition, returning for the first time since 2008, will air live on Prime Video.
At last year's Florida Atlantic Invitational, South Florida captured its lone team title of the season with a 20-stroke victory over runner-up North Alabama at PGA National. The Bulls' Jake Peacock earned medalist honors at 3-under par, the only player to finish under par for the tournament. Stetson placed fourth as a team, led by Engman, who tied for seventh at even-par 217. Both Engman and Glaudas return to the field for a second straight year.
This week's event marks the conclusion of Stetson's fall schedule, which has included appearances at the Whirlwind Collegiate Invitational (Chandler, Ariz.), the William H. Tucker Invitational (Albuquerque, N.M.), the West Bay Collegiate (Estero, Fla.), and last week's Furman Invitational (Greenville, S.C.).
The Hatters enter the tournament on a high note after earning their first team title of the season at the Furman Invitational, finishing 3-under par for a six-stroke win over Campbell and nine ahead of third-place Western Kentucky.
Lefèver captured his first individual title as a Hatter in Greenville, winning by two strokes. He leads the team with a 69.8 scoring average and has recorded rounds of par or better in 10 of 12 rounds this season. Glaudas, who earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships last year, owns a 71.3 scoring average with nine rounds of par or better.
