VALDOSTA, Ga. – With unfinished business on its mind, the Stetson University men's golf team returns to the ASUN Championship at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club next week looking to turn last year's near-miss into a title.
The Hatters, who came up just one stroke short of the program's second conference crown a year ago, will compete in the 54-hole championship beginning Tuesday. Tee times start at 8 a.m. off holes No. 1 and No. 10, with one round scheduled each day on the 7,781-yard, par-72 course. The tournament concludes Thursday with an awards ceremony following the final round.
Stetson is part of a 12-team field that includes Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, North Alabama, North Florida, Queens and West Georgia. The Hatters will be represented by a 6-golfer contingent consisting of Matthis Lefèvre, Gaspar Glaudas, Simon Engman, Thanattasorn Supinraj, Jackson Hicks and Rasmus Ronnberg.
The low four scores from each round will count toward the team total. The tournament champion will earn the ASUN's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals, which are scheduled for May 18-20 at six different sites around the country. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa's North Course in Carlsbad, Calif.
As of April 15, the Hatters enter the ASUN Championships ranked 72nd in the Clippd Scoreboard NCAA Division I rankings - the second-highest rating among the league's men's golf programs. FGCU ranks 58th, while North Alabama is the only other team in the top 100 at No. 96.
Stetson has claimed team champion honors three times during the 2025-26 regular season, winning the title at the Furman Invitational in the fall as well as the Dorado Beach Collegiate and the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate during the spring. Of the team's 10 tournaments, the Hatters finished among the top five on eight occasions and finished with a head-to-head .676 winning percentage versus its opponents with a 102-48-3 record.
Lefèvre, a graduate transfer from Hossegor, France, led the team in scoring average at 70.7 and earned medalist honors at the Furman Invitational, the Dorado Beach Collegiate and the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate. He registered nine rounds in the 760s and 21 of his 29 at par or better, both team bests.
Glaudas, the defending ASUN individual champion from Sainte Tulle, France, joined his countryman and Engman with 10 tournament appearances and posted a 72.2 stroke average. His best finish of the season was runner-up honors at the Dorado Beach Collegiate and registered three top-10 finishes.
Engman, a Gothenburg, Sweden native, enters the ASUN Championships with a 72.5 scoring average and is coming off a share of 14th at the Giles-Spratley Collegiate with a 3-under par 213. He was Stetson's second-best finisher at last year's ASUN Championships, finishing 13th overall at 4-under par.
Supinraj, a true freshman from Udon Thani, Thailand, played five events during the regular season but has competed in the last three tournaments for the Hatters. He finished in a season-low tie for 13th at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate and owns a 73.6 scoring average over 15 competitive rounds as a collegian.
Hicks, one of four Hatters who are returning to Kinderlou Forest for the second-straight year, carded a 2-under in the final round at last year's ASUN Championships. This season, the Roswell, N.M. native has played in seven tournaments and registered a 73.1 scoring average with a top finish being runner-up at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate.
Ronnberg, one of three golfers from Sweden on the team, competed in nine of 10 tournaments during the season. The Kungsängen native has a 73.5 scoring average and registered a season-best finish, sharing 13th place at the Furman Invitational.
Created by Davis Love III Designs, Kinderlou Forest opened in April 2004Â and has served as the host to several PGA Nationwide Tour and PGA Web.com events. In an area known for flat terrain, the topography of Kinderlou Forest is unusual for the region. Undulating hills lend a unique element not found in southern Georgia, and the signature #4 with its deep, all natural ravine is one of the most challenging, yet beautiful, holes on the course.
