WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Stetson Hatters men's golf team earned a third-place finish at the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate, held at Cape Fear Country Club in Wilmington, NC, from March 24-25. Rasmus Ronnberg led the way for Stetson, finishing tied for fifth with a four-under-par total of 209. The Hatters finished with a score of 857, five over par, securing their second Top-3 finish of the season under Head Coach Danny Forshey.
Stetson, competing against 13 teams including ASUN rival Jacksonville, shot their best round in the second, posting a 279 — just one stroke behind UNCW for the lowest team score of the round. They started and closed the tournament with rounds of 289.
Ronnberg's solid performance was powered by rounds of 69-69-71. Simon Engman also had a strong showing, finishing tied for 11th with an even-par total of 213. After starting with a 73, Engman exploded for a 66 in round two before closing with a 74.
Jackson Hicks made a significant jump on the final day, climbing from a tie for 44th to finish tied for 19th with a score of 215, two over par. His 67 in the final round helped him climb the leaderboard.
Gaspar Glaudas and Mans Boje both finished tied for 41st and 69th, respectively. Glaudas posted a combined 221, with a low of 69 in round two, while Boje finished with 228, highlighted by a 74 in the opening round. Gabriel Lindahl, competing as an individual, tied for 41st with Glaudas, posting rounds of 75-73-73.
The Hatters will return to action at the Tiger Invitational, hosted by Missouri, on April 7-8 at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, MO.
