DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The Stetson Hatters secured a second-place finish at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate, held at LPGA International (Jones Course) from March 3-4. This marks the Hatters' first Top-3 finish of the season, highlighted by a tournament second-round low score of 294. Stetson finished ahead of four ASUN rivals and their Central Florida counterpart, UCF.
Simon Engman and Maverick Conaway, competing as an individual, both tied for ninth in a competitive field of 15 teams. Engman began the tournament with a 73 in the opening round, followed by a 76 in the second round, which included an eagle on hole 14. A 34 on the front nine of the final round helped him post a 74, finishing the tournament with a total score of 223, seven over par.
Conaway, one of four Stetson individuals, matched Engman's performance, carding the same scores and impressively recording three consecutive birdies during his opening round.
Måns Boje finished just one stroke behind, concluding the tournament with a score of 224. He posted a team-low 71 in the first round, followed by a 73, and finished with an 80 on the final day.
Rasmus Ronnberg and Gaspar Glaudas both tied for 21st at 11 over par. Ronnberg had consistent rounds of 76, 76, and 75, while Glaudas shot 75, 74, and 78, with his best round coming on the front nine of round two (35).
Gabriel Lindahl and Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul, competing as individuals, also tied for 21st. Lindahl had a slow start with an 80 but rebounded with a 72 and finished with a 75, while Viboonviriyasakul carded a team-low 69 in round two before a final-round 82 brought his total to 227.
Jackson Hicks finished T38 at 14 over par, with scores of 76, 71, and 83 for a final total of 230.
James McNair, also competing as an individual, tied for 56th. His rounds of 75, 83, and 77 resulted in a 235 total.
The Hatters will next compete at the Seminole Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida State, at Glen Arvin Country Club in Thomasville, GA, on March 10-11.
