Greenville, N.C. – The Stetson Hatters women's golf team finished fifth out of 16 teams at the Ironwood Invitational, hosted by East Carolina University. In their final tournament before the ASUN Championship, the Hatters recorded their fourth consecutive top-five finish, hitting that goal in the largest field of that range. They were the top-finishing team among the four Florida programs and finished ahead of ASUN rivals Jacksonville and Austin Peay.
Julieta Oviedo and Isaki Sakashita led the Hatters, both tying for 17th place at nine over par. Sakashita, a freshman from Japan, posted the team's lowest round with a 73 in the first round, while Oviedo recorded a team-low 74 in round two.
Filippa Jansson finished 24th at 12 over par, averaging 76 strokes per round, while Elizabeth Eberle took 36th place at 15 over, with an average of 77 strokes per round.
Rounding out the Hatters' five-player lineup was Alisa Brannock, who finished 87th with a total of 252 strokes, posting rounds of 84.
Stetson will now shift its focus to the ASUN Championship, which will take place at RTJ Hampton Cove - Highlands Course in Huntsville, AL, from April 13-15.
