DeLAND, Fla. — The Stetson women's golf team earned a historic haul of postseason recognition as Isaki Sakashita was named ASUN Golfer of the Year, highlighting a program-record four Hatters honored by the conference.
Sakashita becomes the first Stetson player to earn Golfer of the Year honors since Alex Buelow won three consecutive awards from 2010-12, adding to a growing list of accolades early in her collegiate career. After being named ASUN Freshman of the Year last season, the sophomore continued her rise with a dominant campaign and was also selected to her second consecutive All-ASUN First Team.
Joining Sakashita among the conference honorees, Filippa Jansson, Ailsa Brannock, and Julieta Oviedo were each named to the All-ASUN Second Team. Jansson earned her second straight Second Team selection, while Brannock and Oviedo each collected the first All-ASUN honors of their careers.
The four selections mark the most All-ASUN honorees in program history and the highest total under head coach Teresa Brown, further underscoring the continued growth of the Hatters program.
Sakashita's award-winning season helped power Stetson to one of its most successful campaigns to date, while the depth provided by Jansson, Brannock, and Oviedo kept the Hatters firmly in contention throughout the year.
