Men's Golf Sets Program Best With Four ASUN Academic Honorees

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As a testament to Stetson University Athletics' commitment to success in the classroom and on the course, the Hatter men's golf team set a program record with half of its roster earning ASUN Academic All-Conference honors, the league office announced today.

Juniors Simon Engman and Gabriel Lindahl, senior Gaspar Glaudas, and graduate student Matthis Lefèvre were among 26 golfers across the league recognized for their academic and athletic success.

The Academic All-ASUN Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom. All student-athletes named to the list boast a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's competitions.

Stetson's four honorees this year join previous Hatter recipients Sam Ryder (2012), Benjamin Resnick (2020), Matt Taylor (2015). Between the Stetson men and women's golf teams this season, seven deserving student-athletes were recognized by the ASUN for their academic accomplishments.  On the course, both teams finished as runners-up for the league's team championships.

Lindahl, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, owns a 3.86 grade point average as an economics major at Stetson. He played 17 competitive rounds for the Hatters this season and scored an average of 73.1 strokes per round. His best finish of the season was a tie for 19th place at the West Bay Collegiate in Estero, Fla., one of his two top-20 finishes.

Engman, a Gothenburg native who is one of three natives of Sweden on the team, is pursuing a computer science degree and entered the spring semester with a 3.75 grade point average. He registered six top-20 finishes on the year with a season-low tie for sixth at the ASUN Championships at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga. Over his last six rounds of the year, Engman turned in scores of par or better five times and averaged a 70.7 scoring average.

Glaudas, the 2025 ASUN individual champion, entered the spring semester with a 3.58 grade point average as he pursues a bachelor's degree in business administration. A native of Sainte Tulle, France, he joined Engman and Lefèvre as the three Stetson golfers to play all 11 of the team's events during the season. More than half of his rounds scored at par or better and his top finish was a second place effort at the Dorado Beach Collegiate.

Lefèvre, a graduate transfer from the University of Arkansas who earned Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll honors as a junior and senior, owns a 3.5 grade point average as he pursues a master's degree in business administration from Stetson. The team's low scorer with a 70.9 stroke average, the Hossegor, France native won three tournaments during the season.
