Clemson, S.C. ? The Stetson men's tennis team (10-4) saw its four-match winning streak end in a 6-1 defeat at Clemson (8-6) on Saturday. Freshman Njal Stene (Oslo, Norway) earned the only point for the Hatters with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 win over Kevin Fleck at #4 singles.
Senior Filip Kricka (Umag, Croatia) and freshman Maksim Levanovich (Minsk, Belarus) won their #2 doubles match 9-7 over Gera Boryanchinskiy and Robert Pietrucha. It was the 10th consecutive doubles win for Levanovich. Stetson had the opportunity to take two more points in singles but junior Mark Mestan (Cologne, Germany) and freshman Cesare Gallo (Portogruaro, Italy) each fell in three sets.
The Hatters return to action Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. against Winthrop back home at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
