Hatters Win Fifth Straight, Down Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C.—Stetson men's tennis stretched its winning streak to five as the Hatters earned a 4-1 win over Wofford, Wednesday at Reeves Tennis Center.

Head coach Christophe Noblet was pleased with his team's performance.

"This is a good win for us, as Wofford is a dangerous team especially when you play them at home," he said. "We also realize we still have plenty to improve on, and must keep on preparing ourselves for what comes next. Winning a few in a row does feel good, but will not take our attention away from the process and our thrive to progress. "
 
The Hatters (8-3)were once again strong in doubles play, earning the point after wins by the No. 3 team of Graham Ball & Coilin MacNamara, and the No. 1 duo of Loic Blanco & Colter DeCoste.
 
Leading 1-0, the Hatters made quick work of the Terriers (8-3) in singles. Blanco breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1, and Angus Bradshaw followed with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 to give the Hatters a 3-0 advantage.
 
Stetson clinched the match when Pierre-Emmanuel Fossier pulled out a 7-6, 7-6 win at No. 4. Both Ball and Williams Shkrob were in the third set of their respective matches when Fossier's victory halted play.
 
The Hatters next visit The Citadel, 1 p.m., Thursday.
