Hatters Edge Kennesaw State 4-3

KENNESAW, Ga.—Stetson men's tennis completed an Atlantic Sun Conference weekend sweep with a 4-3 win at Kennesaw State, Saturday at Betty Siegel Courts.
 
The Hatters (12-4 overall, 2-1 ASUN) also won Thursday at Lipscomb. Saturday's victory came after Stetson was soundly defeated in doubles, forcing the Hatters to rally during singles play. Loic Blanco clinched the match for Stetson with a three-set victory at No. 1.
 
"Winning against Kennesaw today feels good since they took us down last year at the conference championship," Stetson head coach Christophe Noblet said. "They played an excellent doubles and fully deserved that point, even though our own performance was sub-par compare to our recent matches. But credit to this very young group for reacting with such poise, and taking first sets on five out six courts."

After losing the doubles point, Stetson tied the match with Graham Ball's 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2. Angus Bradshaw gave the Hatters a 2-1 lead with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3.

William Shkrob won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 before Kennesaw won at No. 6 to get within 3-2. But Blanco gave the Hatters the match with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 1.

Stetson returns to action when the Hatters host NJIT, 2 p.m., Thursday, April 6.
