Hatters Turn in Dominant Effort Against NJIT

DeLAND—Stetson men's tennis turned in a dominating performance on Thursday as the Hatters toppled Atlantic Sun Conference foe NJIT, 6-1, at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
 
With the win Stetson improves to 13-4 overall and 3-1 in ASUN play, keeping the second-place Hatters on-pace with conference leader North Florida.
 
Stetson opened the match with a convincing win in doubles. The No. 3 tandem of Coilin MacNamara and Graham Ball started things off with a 6-3 decision, and the No. 1 duo of Loic Blanco and Colter DeCoste clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win of their own.
 
Up 1-0 on the scoreboard Stetson eased through singles. Blanco was the first Hatter on the board with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1. DeCoste followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3.
 
Angus Bradshaw was next in the win column, clinching the team win for the Hatters with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3. Ball was next at No. 2, winning 6-4, 6-2, and William Shkrob finished off the day by winning 7-5, 6-3 at No. 4.
 
ASUN play continues on Saturday when the Hatters host USC Upstate at 2 p.m. Ball will be honored prior to the match as part of Senior Day festivities.
