Box Score DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson University men's tennis team cruised past Atlantis University 4-0 Friday afternoon at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
Stetson got out to a hot start as the Hatters (5-4) took all three doubles matches on the day. Ervin Eminefendic and Sven Thiergard set the tone for the Hatters as the pair took their match 6-3. Fabian Penzkofer and Tim Gennes followed suit with a 6-2 win, earning the point for Stetson. Diogo Marques and Sami Ozzor were the third to finish their match, but won it 6-4 for the doubles sweep.
Gennes continued his success on the day as the senior made quick work of Atlantis' Vanja Vojinovic, taking the match 6-1 and 6-0 in two sets and earning the Hatters their second point of the day on court five. On court six, Sami Ozzor took care of his opponent in two sets as the freshman won his, like Gennes, 6-1 and 6-0. With the Hatters up 3-0, Diogo Marques sealed the 4-0 win on court one in two sets, winning 6-3 and 6-2.
Stetson's men's tennis team will be back at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 19 as the Hatters host Georgia Southern at 2 p.m.
