DELAND, Fla. – Stetson University men's tennis head coach Christophe Noblet has announced the Hatters' first recruit for the upcoming 2022-23 academic season, as Bendix Schroeder will join the squad this fall.
Schroeder, a native of Syke, Lower Saxony, Germany, currently holds a DR adult ranking of 341, while in 2019 as a U16 player, he had a national DR ranking of 19.
He has helped his Lower Saxony team to the league U18 championships in back-to-back seasons (2019, 2020) and was a singles champion himself in 2019 (U16). In 2021, he was the Lower Saxony vice champion at U18, and has also competed at German Championships, both times reaching the doubles quarterfinals.
"We are excited to welcome Bendix to our team for the Fall 2022," Noblet said. "He is passionate about tennis and wants to compete at a high level. He also embraces our core values wholeheartedly and will be a great asset for us next season."
Stetson (7-6, 0-1 ASUN) will welcome both Florida Gulf Coast (Friday) and Kennesaw State (Sunday) for league matches this upcoming weekend. Friday's match begins at 3 pm.
