DeLand, Fla – Stetson (10-6, 0-2) falls to North Florida (8-4, 1-0) in their ASUN Conference home opener.
Stetson dropped the doubles point to start off the afternoon as

Marc Saura lost 1-6.
Ervin Haris Eminefendic /
Juan Jose Rodriguez Garceran also fell 3-6 to concede the point to North Florida.
In singles play court two finished first, which saw
Lucas Olivier lose 2-6,4-6.
Juan Jose Rodriguez Garceran would put the Hatters on the board with his 6-3,6-2 win on court four. Court one was the next to finish, where
Marc Saura came up short 3-6,6-4.
Ervin Haris Eminefendic was unable to get the win as he went 5-6,3-6. Eminefendic's loss put the overall score at 1-4 North Florida.
The final two singles points were won by Hatters, as
Alexandre Hillhouse and
Sami Ozzor picked up points after three set matches. Hillhouse finished 2-6,6-3,6-2 and Ozzor won 6-2,4-6,6-2. Although Stetson picked up the final two points it was not enough as they come up short 3-4 to North Florida.
"It was a good fight and battle like always against North Florida, losing the doubles point hurt us to start the match," said Stetson head coach
Christophe Noblet. "In singles we fought like dogs on every court and we should be proud of the quality of fight we put up. We have a tough stretch in the conference coming up and we have to keep pushing to get better."
The Hatters will be back at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on March 24
th at 3:00 p.m. where they will face FGCU.
