DeLand, Fla – Stetson (10-7, 0-3) fought hard, but came up short against ASUN rival FGCU (7-8, 2-1) 2-5.
The Hatters got off to a fast start in doubles action winning on court three,
Alexandre Hillhouse and
Sven Thiergard won 6-3. Stetson would come up short on court one

Ervin Haris Eminefendic /
Juan Jose Rodriguez Garceran 4-6 on court two to drop the doubles point to FGCU.
Stetson would claim the first singles point of the day as
Ervin Haris Eminefendic won on court three 6-2,6-3. The Hatters would drop the next two points as
Marc Saura 5-7,1-6 would lose on court one and
Alexandre Hillhouse fell on court six 3-6,4-6.
Lucas Olivier would score the second point for the Hatters as he grinded his way to a 6-4,7-6 victory on court two.
The final two singles points were claimed by FGCU as
Sami Ozzor would fall in 3-sets 6-1,5-7,2-6.
Juan Jose Rodriguez Garceran would also come up short in a 3-set match 6-2,6-7,4-6.
"It was another battle, a good match from FGCU. They took it to us at the end, we battled hard until the last few games. It came down to a few points here and there, and we came up short. We have to continue to keep learning from these close battles," said Stetson head coach
Christophe Noblet.
The Hatters will travel to Georgia to take on Kennesaw State on Sunday March 26
th at 3:00 p.m.
