Kuehne Named ASUN Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

DeLAND, Fla. — Christian Kuehne of Stetson Men's Tennis has been named the ASUN Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

The honor marks the first weekly award of the season for the Hatters and for Kuehne, and the second of his collegiate career. He previously earned the distinction on Feb. 12 of last season.

Kuehne delivered two clutch performances to help lead Stetson to a pair of dramatic 4-3 victories over Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern.

Against Coastal Carolina, Kuehne clinched the match for the Hatters at No. 1 singles with a comeback victory over Christopher Norlin. After dropping the opening set 6-1, Kuehne rallied to take the next two sets 7-5, 6-4 to secure the decisive point in Stetson's road win. Earlier in the match, he teamed with Marc Saura for a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles to help Stetson capture the doubles point.

Kuehne followed that performance with another match-clinching effort against Georgia Southern. Competing at No. 2 singles, he defeated Gregoire Delattre 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to seal Stetson's second consecutive 4-3 victory.

For the week, Kuehne went undefeated in singles play and was responsible for clinching both dual matches for the Hatters.
